Expedia is excited to let you know that we have received final approval from the City of Seattle on our Major Phased Development (MPD) application for our new headquarters in the Interbay neighborhood. As background, an MPD is a complex land use approval that legally entitles the land for 15 years and gives us the flexibility to build, in phases, up to 1.9M square feet of total space over that period. The process included a full Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and a Transportation Management Plan (TMP). The full report can be found here.
Over the course of the next 2.5 years there will be numerous major milestones – some of the upcoming ones include the first in a series of construction permits and the updated design concept. We are very excited to reach this part in our journey to help us move to our new home and will make sure that we continue to keep you updated on our process.
